FAQ

Here are some common questions

GETTING STARTED

01

What should I wear to class?

There is not a specific dress code.
Any comfortable clothes that you are ok sweating in, will work.

02

What about shoes?

As you start your dance journey, street shoes or dress shoes work well. Once you are more comfortable and the classes start to pick up speed you may want to invest in dancing shoes.

Avoid wearing shoes with thick rubber soles: sneakers, clogs, boots or flip-flops.

03

Do I need to bring a partner?

Partners are not required for any of our classes, but everyone is welcomed to bring one. During the partner-work half of class, we have couples rotate partners which is a crucial part in learning to dance because you get to learn to dance with anyone not just one person.

If you're not comfortable rotating partners, no worries! Just let the instructor know at the beginning of class.

04

Should I pre-register or can I drop-in to class?

We advise all students to reserve a spot in any of our classes to avoid being rejected from a sold out class. Signing up speeds up checking in at the studio so that you start your class on time.

NO STUDENT is allowed to "drop-in" into one of our 4 week cycle programs. Pre-registration is required and you may do so here

05

Is dance experience necessary?

Previous experience is not required for any of our "Intro to" classes or our Level 1 cycle programs. You will need prior experience for our Open level classes as well as any Level above the classes mentioned before.

06

Can I still join a cycle if I missed the 1st class?

New Students/Beginners are suggested to start at the beginning of a cycle. The 1st week is preferred but you may join the 2nd week if space allows. After the 2nd week, you will need to wait for the next cycle (repeats every 4 weeks).

Check our next cycle dates on the schedule.

07

What if I sign up for class and cannot attend?

Please be sure to cancel your reservation if you are unable to attend. All class packages have an expiration date. If you miss a class, you will have the chance to double up the week you are back. Some classes are the same throughout the week - for example, if you miss 1 Tuesday class, you can make it up on Thursday.

You will lose the class if you do not cancel in advance.

08

How long until I learn to dance?

Every student learns through different techniques and at a different speed, that makes it difficult to give a timeframe. However, on average our students take between 4-6 months to start becoming comfortable with the style of dance they are learning.

09

Do you offer a monthly membership?

Yes. Salsa In Queens does offer monthly memberships. Find our pricing here.

10

Can I cancel or modify my order after it has been placed?

Yes. Log into your mind body profile to cancel or modify your class schedule. If you need help you can contact the studio

11

What is the refund policy?

Class packages for group and/or private classes are non-refundable and non-transferable.
