What should I wear to class?
There is not specific dress code. Any comfortable clothes that you are ok sweating on work.
What about shoes?
As you start your dance journey, street shoes or dress shoes work beautifully. Once you get more comfortable and the classes start to pick up speed you might want to invest in dancing shoes. Do avoid wearing shoes that have thick rubber soles such as sneakers, clogs, boots or flip-flops.
Do I need to bring a partner?
Partners are not required for any of our classes, but everyone is welcomed to bring one. During the partner-work half of class, we have couples rotate partners which is a crucial part in learning to dance because you get to learn to dance with anyone not just one person.
If you're not comfortable rotating partners, no worries! Just let the instructor know at the beginning of class 😉
Should I pre-register for a class or can I just drop-in?
We advise all our students to reserve a spot in any of our classes in advanced to avoid being rejected from a sold out class. Signing up speeds up checking in at the studio so that you start your class on time.
See Studio Policies:
Do note that NO STUDENT is allowed to "drop-in" into one of our 4-week cycle programs. Pre-registration is required and you may do so by clicking HERE.
Is dance experience necessary?
Previous experience is not required for any of our "Intro to" classes or our Level 1 cycle programs. You will need prior experience for our Open level classes as well as any Level above the classes mentioned before.
Can I still join the new cycle if I missed the 1st class?
New Students/Beginners are suggested to start at the beginning of a cycle. The 1st week is preferred but you may join the 2nd week if space allows. After the 2nd week, you will need to wait for the next cycle (repeats every 4 weeks). Check our next cycle dates on the schedule.
What if I sign up for classes and I have an emergency or such other case that I may have to miss a class or two?
If you are unable to attend, please make sure to cancel your reservation.
All class packages have an expiration date. If you miss a class, you will have the chance to double up the week you are back in order to use all your classes within the time period given. You will lose the class if you do not cancel in advance on the schedule.
Some classes are the same throughout the week - so for example, if you miss 1 Tuesday class, you can make it up on Thursday.
See Studio Policies:
What are the refund policies?
Class packages for group and/or private classes are non-refundable and non-transferable.
How long until I learn to dance?
Every student learns through different techniques and at a different speed, that makes it difficult to give a timeframe. However, on average our students take between 4-6 months to start becoming comfortable with the style of dance they are learning.
